LINDA KUEHL-HOLDEN (June 18, 1951 – November 16, 2023)

Linda Kuehl-Holden passed away on November 16, 2023 at home in Finland, Minnesota from gastric cancer. She was born at home on the family farm in Clark County, Wisconsin near Thorpe on June 18, 1951. The family moved to Minnesota in 1959, where she attended grade school in Forest Center, MN and graduated from Wm. Kelley High School in 1969.

Linda worked numerous places in her younger years, as well as being a Mother, Wife and homemaker. Her work places included Finland Airbase, Finland Co-op, for Bonnie and Wally at Four Seasons, and Arlene Severson at Galbraith Company where she met many Silver Bay residents. In later years she was the Administrative Assistant for the City of Beaver Bay. Linda was a social person and she greatly enjoyed interactions with City staff, banking staff, and the many residents that came to the office.

Among the memories she most cherished were the many trips with Sisters and Mother Vera to various and far flung locations across the country, including a road trip through Southern Canada and then taking a ferry to Ketchikan, Alaska. The ladies’ group Tuesday Talents, the annual Christmas Eve family gathering, good food, kids sliding down the hill, quilt retreats, family reunions, Kuehl Kousins week-ends, and “mudding” on wheelers with Sisters and friends. She enjoyed softball, volleyball, dance, cribbage, snowmobiles, cruises, and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Linda’s great passions were Grandkids, Great Grands and Jesus Christ. She was an active member in Lakeside Bible Church for many years and continued an endearing friendship with Pastor Ron and Glenda. She was a daily bible reader and enjoyed sharing God’s message of salvation, that the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ was for atonement of all sin. A place in Heaven is reserved for all who believe in this simple message.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Vera and daughter, Cindy. She is survived by a son, Scott Dubbin; sisters, Harriet, Jaqueline and Katherine; brothers, Wally, Elroy, and William; husband, Alan; step children, Rhonda, Todd, Cory, Chad and Jenna; eleven Grands and seven Great Grands with two on the way; also, dear friend Sherry Dubbin.

Her immediate family, son, sisters, and husband were gratified to be able to provide personal, compassionate in-home care for Linda throughout her ordeal. We were all holding her hands when she slipped away. You left a big hole in our hearts, Sweetie. It won’t be filled until we can hold you again….

A Celebration of life will be held on December 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM, Clair Nelson center, Finland, Minnesota.
