Grand Marais Girl Scouts Work Towards Bronze Award by Helping Lake County Humane Society

Two Girl Scouts in the community have been working on their Bronze Award, one of the highest awards in Girl Scouting. It consists of helping the community in some way and having worked at least 20 hours each.

Lily and Holly Belmore of Grand Marais, MN have made pet bags and donated them to Lake County Humane Society. The tote bags are filled with pet items such as a brush, treats, toys, and other items depending if it’s for a cat or dog. Each bag also contains a handmade fleece blanket that the girls sewed and a brochure that informs people how to care for their pet and why pet owners should spay or neuter their furry friend.

If you’re interested in donating or would like to adopt a best friend, please contact your local animal shelter.
