Phyllis J. Pearrow 94, of Silver Bay, MN passed away at Lakeview Hospital Tuesday, April 21st after a lengthy hospital stay.
Phyllis was born in June of 1931 to Walter and Ruth (Tolliver) Smith. Phyllis was a graduate of Lodi High School, in Lodi, CA.
In her younger years she lived on a Ranch with a lot of animals that she loved taking care of. Pictures of her early years had at least one animal with her. At 16 Phyllis met Ray Pearrow while Roller Skating in Stockton, CA. They were married in September of 1948 and had 3 children. Phyllis was a Homemaker while their children were young. Later when they moved to Minnesota she worked as an in-home caregiver and then she became a Psychiatric Technician for the Minnesota State School and Hospital in Faribault, Mn.
Phyllis loved family, gardening, snowmobiling, hiking, snowshoeing, and was also very interested in family history and helped put together their family genealogy.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Kathrine (James) Freshour and Elizabeth Peterson, 3 Grandsons, 4 Great-Grandsons, 2 Great-Granddaughters, and a Step-Brother, Carl Kammerer.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her Parents and her Husband of 74 years, Ray Pearrow; her son, Ray Jr.; her Granddaughter, Angela Cook; Sister Janis; Step-sister, Sandy; Brothers, David, Walter Jr., and Ralph; Step-brother Larry Kammerer; and Son-in-law, Floyd Peterson Jr.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 16, 2026. Visitation at 10:00 AM and Service at 11:00 AM at the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay, MN. Luncheon to follow service.
