Lake County Toward Zero Deaths

[Lake County, MN] — The Lake County Toward Zero Deaths Coalition received the 2027 Safe Roads Grant through the Office of Traffic Safety. This grant will continue the work started in 2026 to make Lake County roads safer through innovative activities based on the five “E”s (Engineering, Enforcement, Education, EMS & Trauma Services and Everyone!) Activities are guided by data from the Department of Public Safety, which identified the areas of speed, impairment, and seat belt use as the highest-ranking traffic safety issues in the county. Thankfully, Lake County numbers are low overall, but there is still work to be done. Interested in joining the coalition? Everyone is welcome! Contact Chelsey at chelsey.ojard@lakecountymn.gov to join our table!

The next TZD activity is happening soon! The Lake County TZD Coalition invites the community to Cedar Coffee on October 29, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm for casual conversation with local law enforcement, plow drivers, and members of the TZD coalition regarding winter driving, plowing, and enforcement. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, bring up concerns, and share perspectives as we prepare for the winter months. Cedar Coffee is generously partnering with TZD for this event by offering a 50% discount on all specialty drinks for attendees! Come on out and join us as we prepare for a safe winter together!
