Paper Quilling Take & Create Art Kits at your Library

Mountain Iron, MN, April 18, 2023 – The Arrowhead Library System (ALS) will be providing Paper Quilling Take & Create Art Kits to member public libraries to distribute May 1-31, 2023. This art experience has been designed by the Duluth Folk School. Create anything from animals to flowers, mosaics, or fun patterns that you can make into a card or wall art! Participants will start with colorful, pre-cut paper strips which will be rolled into coils using a quilling tool, then learn how to pinch them into a variety of shapes that can be combined to create a unique design. Kits will be distributed at the following public libraries and ALS outreach locations:

Duluth Public Library
Ely Public Library
Grand Marais Public Library
Silver Bay Public Library
Two Harbors Public Library
Arrowhead Library System Bookmobile
Arrowhead Library System Mail-A-Book (*patrons must qualify for Mail-A-Book services, kit may be modified in order to deliver by mail)

This program is geared towards participants ages 8 and up, though younger kids can also do the art project with more help from an adult. Please note each location has a limited number of kits – feel free to contact your local library for more information.

This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. To learn more about Arrowhead Legacy Events, please see the calendar at www.alslib.info  or like them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/alslibinfo .
