Minnesota Author Cary J Griffith Offers One Free Book at Every Arrowhead Library System Tour Stop

Mountain Iron, MN, November 15, 2024 December’s author tour of the Arrowhead Library System brings more than just a free program! Author Cary J Griffith (Minnesota Book Award and Mid­west Book Award win­ner) wants to make the most of his visit to the northland by giving one free book to one attendee for every free library program he at­tends!

Cary J Griffith is the author of bestselling nonfiction books Gun­flint Falling: Blow­down in the Boundary Waters, Gunflint Burn­ing: Fire in the Bound­ary Waters, and Lost in the Wild. His non­fiction titles share true stories of survival and courage in the Bound­ary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Cary J Griffith’s library tour centers around his book Gunflint Fall­ing, and attendees can learn more about the events of July 4, 1999 that led to the creation of his book. Griffith has also written a se­ries of Mystery books, and his latest Sam Rivers Mystery Dead Catch (set on Lake Vermilion) will also be discussed during his free library programs. This program tour, sponsored by Arrow­head Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF).

How can you win a free book written by Cary J Griffith? Sim­ply attend one of his upcoming public li­brary events! During Griffith’s presentation he will provide attend­ees with the answer to three (very easy) true/ false questions. Who­ever answers all three questions correctly is in the running to win a free, signed copy of a Griffith-authored book. He will also have copies of all his books for sale, in case anyone is interested. This free program is one hour long and is geared towards junior high students (ages 10+) and adults. Here are the library events to attend in December to potentially win: Monday, December 2, 3:00 p.m. – Ely Public Library Thursday, December 5, 5:00 p.m. – West Duluth Branch Library Friday, December 6, 10:00 a.m. – Two Harbors Public Library Friday, December 6, 2:00 p.m. – Silver Bay Public Library This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
