Cleveland Cliffs Foundation Funds Scoreboards at William Kelley Schools

The Cleveland Cliffs Foundation has a long history of providing funds and donations to educational and community projects in communities near their operations. As owners of Northshore Mining, the foundation has recently made a significant donation to Wm. Kelley High School. The funds will be used to purchase new scoreboards for both the high school and elementary gymnasiums.

The current scoreboards are outdated and not surprisingly, do not use current technology. Like many other states, the Minnesota State High School League will implement a thirty-second clock in high school basketball games beginning the 2023-24 school years. Adding a thirty-second clock is a significant cost for smaller schools.

The new scoreboards, made by NEVCO, will be installed in time for the upcoming basketball season and will be used for both basketball and volleyball.
