Event Organizer Patti Paulson announces an exciting schedule of events for the much anticipated ArtCar Beach Bash weekend, arriving in Silver Bay, Minnesota in mid-August. The events will showcase ten fantastic creations called “ArtCars”, vehicles that have been artistically altered by their owners. A “Sneak Peak” opportunity occurs ahead of the Music in the Park Concert in downtown Silver Bay on Friday, August 18, beginning at 6 PM. The full day exhibition takes place at Black Beach on Saturday, August 19, from 10 AM to 4 PM. All events and activities during the ArtCar Beach Bash weekend are free and open to all.

ARTCAR BEACH BASH SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 19, 10 A.M. TO 4 P.M.
10 AM: ArtCar Parade arrives with Announcer Phil Huston.
11 AM – 1 PM: Stilt walking Queen Bee, ArtBikes, Giant Butterfly Wings, Pollinator Temporary Tattoo, Make N Take: Flower Power Crowns, Crochet Motifs, and ArtCar Buttons.
1 PM Trophies and prizes awarded for exciting beach related competitions: Musical Beach Towels, Hula Hoop Contest, Frisbee Disc Toss, and Beach Ball Run.
1 – 4 PM Live Beach Music by local musician Robin Sunquiet.
2 – 4 PM Face Painting by Nexus, Giant Frame Photos, Make N Take: Faerie Wands, Magnetic Personality Charms, and ArtCar Buttons.
4 PM ArtCars Parade departs with Announcer Phil Huston.
An ArtCar Sneak Peak is available at City Center Park in Silver Bay, ahead of the Music in the Park Concert on Friday, August 18, beginning at 6 p.m. Artists will park their fabulous creations off street near the intersections of Outer Drive and Shopping Center Drive. The community may vote for their favorite ArtCar to collectively choose a People’s Choice winner; ballots will also be collected the following day and used in a drawing for fun prizes.
At the ArtCar Beach Bash exhibition on Saturday, August 19, ArtCars will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the lawn near the Black Beach Mini Golf and the Black Beach Inn (formerly AmericInn), with a variety of free activities lead by the ArtCar artists and other local artisans. Food and beverages on-site available for purchase from: Na-cho Bizness, Magic’s Wraps and Subs, Ems Lems, Timber Coffee Company, and the Treat Trike. Black Beach Mini Golf offers ice cream, pizza, hotdogs and other food items plus mini golf for purchase. Black Beach Inn offers comfortable accommodations for out-of-town guests. Silver Bay Shuttle Service is a free service providing transport throughout the Silver Bay area.

2023 ArtCar Beach Bash is co-hosted by Silver Bay Shuttle Service, Black Beach Inn (AmericInn) and Black Beach Mini Golf. This event is produced with a generous grant from Lovin’ Lake County and financial support from Best of the North Shore and sponsored by the City of Silver Bay.
