Finland MN Historical Society will be hosting its 22nd annual Tori Finnish Marketplace & Music Fest at the Finland MN Historical Site (5653 Little Marais Road, Finland, MN) on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year’s Tori will showcase stellar music on an outdoor bandstand.
The music line up this year features headliner Charlie Parr! THUG (Two Harbors Ukulele Group); Gene LaFond & Amy Grillo; and John Agacki fill out the music line up. This is truly a something-for-everyone music festival.
The day includes an immersion into the Finnish culture with tours of the Heritage Site Museum, sauna, forestry building, homestead cabin, and schoolhouse. There will be artist and blacksmith demonstrations, as well as an array of art and craft vendors with handmade goods to show and sell.
There is a silent auction with many items from local artists and shops.
You can taste delicious food including fish burgers, grilled brats and hotdogs, and a local favorite… grilled sweet corn.
The young and young at heart will have fun with outdoor games, music, and make & take art projects at a new Imagination Station. The Torri Finnish Marketplace and Music Festival will also have a Scavenger Hunt planned so you can explore the Heritage Site and win a Root Beer Float!
New this year is Duluth Goat Yoga visiting for the day, where you can strike a pose with a certified yoga instructor and hang out with a friendly little goat.
Christina Schroeder from The Purple Lotus is offering a make and take Intro to Essential Oils workshop and Gina Thompson is offering a make and take Wine Bottle Bird Feeder.
There is also a cash raffle, with prizes awarded at 5:00 p.m. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the event or at local merchants.
The 22nd annual Tori Finnish Marketplace & Music Festival is a chance to celebrate the Finnish Heritage, hear great music, eat delicious food, and gather as a community for a fun-for-all-ages cultural experience while raising money to support the Finland MN Historical Society.
Be sure to stop back on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for a Pancake Breakfast.
