COOK COUNTY, MN. — Let’s Plant Trees will distribute over 7000 free pre-ordered tree seedlings to Cook County residents on Sunday, May 24 at WTIP in Grand Marais and on Sunday, June 7th in Lutsen at North Shore Winery.
These community free tree events have been made possible through the partnership and support of North Shore Federal Credit Union, whose sponsorship helped provide the 7000 trees for the event. Let’s Plant Trees is also grateful to the Cook County Community Fund and Arrowhead Electric for its support in helping to make this opportunity possible for community members across Cook County, and to WTIP and North Shore Winery for hosting the events.
“We are incredibly grateful to North Shore Federal Credit Union for helping us make this event possible,” said Mike Nicklow of Let’s Plant Trees. “Their support is helping us get thousands of trees into the hands of community members who want to plant them and make a real difference across Cook County.”
All 7000 seedlings for the Cook County events have been pre-ordered by community members and are now out of stock.
Pre-ordered trees will be available for pickup on Sunday, May 24 at WTIP in Grand Marais and on Sunday, June 7th in Lutsen at North Shore Winery from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Any seedlings not picked up during that pre-order window will be released to the public beginning at 2:00 p.m. the same day on a first come, first served basis until gone.
Let’s Plant Trees is a Lutsen, Minnesota based nonprofit focused on reforestation, education, and community tree distribution. This spring, Let’s Plant Trees is distributing more than 50,000 free tree seedlings across Northern Minnesota communities, helping expand access to trees and making it easier for community members to plant in the places they live.
