The North Shore community is invited to celebrate the completion of preservation work
TWO HARBORS, Minn. (June 30, 2026) – A special community night at Split Rock Lighthouse will celebrate the completed historic preservation work at the site. The popular Keeper’s View event returns in 2026, and this year it will be free to attend.
The Keeper’s View will take place on the evening of July 31, 2026. This annual tradition celebrates the anniversary of Split Rock Lighthouse, and this year will showcase the important work done to preserve the lighthouse. As is tradition, the event will include a special lighting of the Split Rock beacon.
At 6:30 pm, the open house will begin with a ribbon cutting to commemorate the completion of preservation projects that took place at Split Rock over the past two summers. Remarks from Minnesota Historical Society Director and CEO Kent Whitworth and Split Rock Lighthouse Site Manager Hayes Scriven will highlight the importance of historic restoration at the site and look to the future of the iconic North Shore landmark.
Throughout the event, guests can explore the grounds and historic buildings. Entertainment will include live music and yard games. Barbecue will be served with beverages available for purchase.
Registration for this free event is requested. The public is asked to RSVP by July 15.
