Reginald R. MacMillan, 95 of Silver Bay, MN, passed away July 27, 2023, with a dear friend by his side.

Reginald Raymond MacMillan was born November 27, 1927, in Pontiac, MI to Walter and Ethel (Cooper) MacMillan.

In 1930 the family moved to Duluth where Reggie attended school before entering the Navy. Reggie proudly served his country in the Navy from 1945 to 1951, both as active duty overseas and the reserves. After a few years on his own he met the love of his life Marjorie Kajawa.

The two were united in marriage on August 30, 1952. On February 14, 1957, they purchased what would be their forever family home in Silver Bay, MN from Reserve Mining. Once finished serving his country, Reggie established his career with Reserve Mining as a well-respected mechanic. Reggie and Marge were blessed with three sons who shared his passion for the outdoors.

An avid hunter, fisher, agate collector and storyteller, Reggie spent most of his time enjoying nature and all it had to offer. Over the years Reggie met many people who became like family, sharing experiences and making countless memories.

When he wasn’t out exploring one could likely find him at his favorite establishment, The Green Door. His presence was always welcomed with an inviting smile and a cold Busch. Reggie will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

His jokes and stories will live on through his family and friends who were blessed to have him as a part of their lives.

Reggie is survived by his oldest son Tom MacMillan, and daughter-in-law Debbie (Steve) MacMillan; Grandchildren, Scott (Stacy) MacMillan, Cassie (Brock) Ernest, Katie (Jhan) Banas, Kelley (Nick) Zais, Ryan MacMillan, Kelsie (Dylan Solberg) MacMillan and Zach MacMillan; Great Grandchildren, Miranda (Pete) Schell, Callie Ernest, Charlee Ernest, Bryce MacMillan, Jaelyn Banas, Kenleigh Banas, Reggie Zais, Kyndyn Maydole and Kwyntyn MacMillan; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Nellie and Mason Schell.
