Norma “Jean” (Butler) Fleck, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 15th, 2026. Jean was born to Thomas and Norma Butler in Virginia, MN. She was a lifelong resident of Two Harbors, and worked as a homemaker, as well as a nursing assistant at Lakeview Memorial Nursing Home for 10 years.
Jean enjoyed cooking and bead crafting, though she was best known for her artistic ability. She primarily sketched and painted landscapes, wildlife, and portraits – her favorite subjects of which were her grandchildren.
At the center of Jean’s life was her relationship with God. She practiced her Christian faith with a level of humility and generosity that inspired all who knew her. She leaves behind many loved ones who will miss her dearly, including her very special lifelong friends Linda Johnson and Wendy (Fleck) Zantek.
Jean is survived by her three children – Kurtis Fleck, Heather (Keith) Beumer, and Casey (Jeff) Fladmark, two sisters – Cathy Butler and Jackie (Butler) Svee, niece – Lacy (Butler) Komarek, eight grandchildren – Tyler, Skyler, Ryan, Hannah, Ava, Bret, Dain, and Cade, and three great grandchildren – Arianna, Colton, and Lucas.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Essentia Health – St Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth for their wonderful and compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held in Two Harbors at Anchor Point Church on Saturday, July 25th at 11am. There will be a luncheon to follow.
