Ernest (Ernie) L. Sjol, 92, of Silver Bay, passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2025. Ernie was born in Fosston, Mn to Gilbert and Alice (Still) Sjol. After graduating high school, he. joined the Army, and proudly served for 2 years. After relocating to Silver Bay, to start working at Reserve Mining, he met and married Linda Grotberg. Ernie enjoyed hunting, taking several trips out west, to hunt Antelope. He also enjoyed traveling and took his family on many vacations all around the US and Canada
He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Gene.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda; daughter Vickie (Dean) Setter, of Duluth, Mn; granddaughters Maggie Newell and Amanda Eckman of McGregor, Mn.
Per his wishes, there will be no service. There will be a family gathering at a later date.
