Dale Jerome Floen, age 88, died on Sept. 22, 2024 at Carefree Living. He grew up as a ‘farm boy’ in Olivia, MN and moved to Silver Bay to work at Reserve Mining in 1956. He married Vivian in 1957 and had 4 children, Darla
(Dave) Laakkonen, Linda (Rusty) Peterson, Steven (Holly: deceased) and Dean Floen (Annette).
He left Silver Bay for Wyoming and worked at Thunder Basin Coal Co. He married Andre and helped raise 4 stepchildren; Gerald (deceased), LeeRoy, Carlyn and Mike Hart.
He was preceded in death by Andre, Gerald and his parents. Survived by Vivian, his children, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, brother Laverne (Karen- deceased) Floen, sister Jeanette (Ron) Stoen.
There will be no service per Dale’s request. Private burial at Sawtooth Cemetery will take place at a later date.
