Dale H. Dickinson, 90, of Silver Bay, died Monday, July 10, 2023 at St. Lukes’s Hospital.
He was born October 21, 1932 to Ernest and Myrtle (Crossland) Dickinson in Virginia, where he grew up, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1950. Dale married Flora Holmes on March 1, 1952 and the couple moved to Silver Bay where he was employed at Reserve Mining for 30 years as power plant engineer until the plant closed in 1986.
He then attended vocational school and moved to Minneapolis where he was employed by the Minneapolis Water Department. After retiring in 1998 they returned to Silver Bay. Dale enjoyed spending time with his family, and the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; sons, Larry and Darrell; and a son-in-law, Allen Hagood. Dale is survived by his wife of 71 years, Flora; a son, Terry (Debra) Dickinson; daughters, Cindy (Bill) Donner, Sherry Hagood, and Yvonne Brickles; 11 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held from 2 PM until 4 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Beaver Bay Community Center.
