NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF DULUTH

The Town of Duluth Board of Supervisors, acting as the board of appeals and adjustments, will hold a public hearing on an appeal by Matthew and Tori Stupnik of the Planning Commission’s April 23, 2026 decision to deny the variances, listed below, that they requested to allow construction of a home at 5888 North Shore Drive.

A 45 ft variance from the required 110 ft from the road to place the building 65 ft from North Shore Drive

A 10 ft variance from the required 100 ft setback from Lake Superior to place the building 90 ft from Lake Superior

A variance to build within a bluff

Legal description of the property:

ALL LOTS 17 & 18 LOT 19 EX WLY 15 FT EX HWY RT. OF WAY, GREENWOOD CLIFFS TOWN OF DULUTH

A public hearing will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Duluth Town Hall 6092 Homestead Road. The documents related to the appeal may be viewed at the Town Hall during business hours or by contacting the Town Clerk at townclerk@lakenet.com.

Members of the public may appear, either in person or by agent or attorney, and provide testimony in opposition to or in support of the appeal. Written comments will also be considered if they are received at the Duluth Town Hall prior to the hearing.
