NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAND USE ORDINANCE OF LAKE COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

Notice is hereby given that the Lake County Board of Adjustment will conduct a public hearing on behalf of, and authorized by, the Lake County Board of Commissioners on May 11, 2026 at 2:30:00 PM, in the Law Enforcement Center; 613 3rd Ave, Two Harbors, MN 55616 at which time interested parties shall have the opportunity to discuss the granting of the following request:

In accordance with Article 25 of Lake County Land Use Ordinance #12, this request, if approved, would allow:

1. relief from the frontage and acreage requirements to allow for two dwellings within the riparian zone including an existing nonconforming cabin and construction of a primary dwelling (Lake County Land Use Ordinance #12 Section 7.06C)

2. relief from the shoreline setback to convert a nonconforming cabin into a guest quarter (Lake County Land Use Ordinance #12 Section 7.06D)

3. for the change of use and improvement of a nonconforming cabin into a sauna (MN Statute 394.36 Sub. 4).

The property in question is located at 2018 Hwy 61, Two Harbors MN and is legally described as OUTLOT 13 OF GOVT LOT 3 E OF M S HW 61 EXC THAT PART DESC IN BK 44 OF TITLES PG 50 OR PARCEL 75 AS SHOWN ON MN DOT R/W PLAT MAP 38-24 IN B36 OF PLATS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE LAKE COUNTY RECORDR; 1.8 acres; RC Resort Commercial, Silver Creek Township. PID: 29-5361-15280.
