TOWN OF CRYSTAL BAY SPECIAL BOARD MEETING CLAIR NELSON COMMUNITY CENTER FINLAND, MN OCTOBER 4, 2023

Attendance: Mike Nikula, Paul Hartshorn, Russell Vance, Terri Perfetto, Douglas Perfetto, Kaare Melby, Jenny Yandrasits, Honor Schauland, Kyle Flack, Gary Olson, Dave Geist.

Paul called the Special Meeting of the Crystal Bay Town Board to order at 7:00pm with the Pledge of allegiance.

Special Business: Discuss Winterizing the Septic System

Motioned by Russ, Seconded by Mike, Passed by unanimous consent.

A. MOTION: Authorizing Warnecke Construction LLC to: Installation of one low hanging alarm in tank three. Place a cap on the third tank to keep the effluent from flowing into the mound. Install two floating trough heaters provided by The Town Board. One heater will be placed in the big square recircula­tion tank, one for the pump tank. Coordinating an electrician to in­stall needed outlets outside for the heaters and to set up the alarm. Covered by the Town of Crystal Bay to look for reimbursement at a future date to be determined with discussion with the property man­ager per contract dated Aug 20th, 2019. Paul will look into a Trough Heater from Coop.

B. Septic Pumping Contract:

1. Friends of Finland will be re­sponsible for setting up and maintaining the contract. Kyle is checking into Matt Lundgrens Septic Pumping to see if he can beat .12 cents a gallon we cur­rently pay with Superior Septic. Currently Superior Septic ser­vices our pumping at the Clair Nelson Center.

C. Plan for how and who will monitor­ing the tank:

1. Friends of Finland will monitor the tanks if or when the alarm goes off and will call for pump­ing.

D. Winter Logistics:

Doug won’t plow snow on top of the tanks this winter. Install a snow fence to keep snowmobiles off the septic field. Doug will be pushing rocks back to be able to mauver better behind the building.

IV. MOTION: to adjourn the special meet­ing at 7:56 pm until our regular monthly meeting October 17th, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Clair Nelson Community Center in Finland.
