Monday, August 10, 2026, the Lake County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting in the Lake County Service Center, Split Rock River Room, 616 Third Avenue, Two Harbors, Minnesota. Board Chairperson Rich Sve called the special meeting to order at 9:30 AM. The purpose of the special meeting is regarding the appointment of election judges.
Lake County Board members present: District 2 Commissioner Derrick “Rick” L. Goutermont, District 4 Commissioner Jeremy M. Hurd, and District 5 Commissioner Rich Sve. County Board members absent: District 1 Commissioner Joe Baltich and District 3 Commissioner Richard “Rick” C. Hogenson. Unless otherwise stated, all actions have been approved by unanimous yea vote. Also present: Lake County Administrator Matthew Huddleston, Interim County Auditor Ronelle “Ronni” Radle, and Clerk of the Board Laurel D. Buchanan.
Interim County Auditor Ronelle “Ronni” Radle thanked the Lake County Board of Commissioners for convening for this special meeting and advised regarding the requests for board action. An appointed election judge for Unorganized Territory #2, Precinct 3 (UT2P3) is unable to serve. Auditor Radle also discussed the request for an additional appointment to the Absentee Ballot Board.
MOTION HURD, SECOND GOUTERMONT: 01 – Approve the following as additional appointment as an election judge for Unorganized Territory #2: Precinct 3: Vicki Stroozas. Absent: Baltich, Hogenson
MOTION GOUTERMONT, SECOND HURD: 02 – Approve the following additional appointment to the Absentee Ballot Board: Election Judge: Cecile Sogge. Absent: Baltich, Hogenson
MOTION GOUTERMONT, SECOND HURD: 03 – Adjourn the special meeting of the Lake County Board of Commissioners at 9:41 AM. Absent: Baltich, Hogenson
