NOTICE OF MAIL BALLOT PROCEDURES TO VOTERS OF UNORGANIZED TERRITORY #1 IN LAKE COUNTY,MINNESOTA

Beginning in 2024, voters in Unorganized Territory #1 in Lake County will vote entire­ly by mail in statewide elections as autho­rized by Lake County under MN Statutes 204B.45.

For the 2024 statewide elections, the election dates and corresponding dates that ballots will be mailed to all registered voters are:

Presidential Nomination Primary: March 5, 2024

Ballot mailing dates January 19, 2024 through February 20, 2024

Statewide Primary Election: August 13, 2024

Ballot mailing dates June 28, 2024 through July 30, 2024

Statewide General Election: November 5, 2024

Ballot mailing dates September 20, 2024 through October 22, 2024.

Each voter registered by February 13, 2024 for the Presidential Nomination Pri­mary, and/or July 23, 2024 for the State­wide Primary Election and/or October 15, 2024 for the Statewide General Election will be mailed a ballot automatically.

Eligible voters not pre-registered by the dates noted, or pre-registered voters wish­ing to receive their ballot at a temporary address, may apply for an absentee ballot by contacting the Lake County Auditor by phone, mail or in person or by applying on­line at https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elec­tions-voting/other-ways-to-vote/

All ballots may be returned by mail (a post­age prepaid return envelope is included when ballots are mailed) or may be deliv­ered in person or delivered by a designat­ed agent to the Lake County Auditor, 601 3rd Avenue, Two Harbors, MN 55616.

Ballots must be received no later than 8:00 pm on Election Day to be counted. Normal business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

In addition to the normal business hours, extended hours for mail balloting are:

10:00 am to 3:00 pm the Saturday before each election and the Monday before each election until 5:00 pm.

The polling place for all future elections is the Lake County Auditor’s Office located on the main floor of the Courthouse at 601 3rd Avenue, Two Harbors, MN 55616. The polls will be open on election days from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

At least one assistive voting device will be available at the polling place, allowing people with disabilities to vote privately and independently.

All mail ballots will be counted at the Lake County Auditor’s Office after 8:00 pm on the respective election dates.
