LAKE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES TWO HARBORS LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER FEBRUARY 12, 2024

The Lake County Board of Adjustment sat in session at 1:00 p.m. on this date and conducted hearings and other business.

V-24-002 – Motions by Hoops support­ed by Fogelberg to deny the request for relief from the shoreline structure setback for after-the-fact structures including a fish cleaning covered deck, firewood storage, and the proposed extension of the deck and roof. Motions by Hoops supported by Fo­gelberg to approve the request as submit­ted for relief from the shoreline structure setback for the after-the-fact structure for a kayak shed. Motion by Hoops supported by Fogelberg to approve the request with conditions for relief from the shoreline structure setback for the after-the fact sauna. Motion by Hippert supported by Fo­gelberg to approve the request with condi­tions for relief from the shoreline structure setback for the after-the-fact structure for a porch addition and conversion. Filed by Kapsch Family Trust Cabin. The prop­erty in question is located at 304 Browns Lake WA, Ely MN and is legally described as: Government Lot 3, Section 08, Town­ship 63, Range 11W; 9.0 acres, zoned shoreland R-R/Residential-Recreational District, one-acre minimum, Fall Lake Township. PID: 28-6311-08430. Motions carried Hoops, Fogelberg and Hippert vot­ing in favor; none opposed.

V-24-003 – Motion by Hoops supported by Fogelberg to deny the request for relief from the side yard structure setback for an existing sauna. Motion by Hoops support­ed by Fogelberg to table discussion for the second request, relief from the side yard setback for building a new garage until the April 8th, 2024, BOA meeting. Filed by Robert and Melissa Acton. The property in question is located at 827 Kawishiwi Trail, Ely MN and is legally described as: Part of Government Lot 1 as described in document 169279, Section 34, Township 62N, Range 11W, 6.8 acres, zoned shore­land R-R /Residential-Recreational Dis­trict, one-acre minimum, Fall Lake Town­ship. PID: 28-6211-03015. Motion carried Hoops, Fogelberg and Hippert voting in favor; none opposed.

Motion by Hoops supported by Hippert to approve the September 11, 2023 min­utes with corrections. Motion by Hoops supported by Fogelberg to approve the January 8, 2024 minutes as submitted. Motion carried Hoops, Fogelberg and Hip­pert voting in favor; none opposed.

Motion by Hoops supported by Fogel­berg to adjourn the meeting. Motion car­ried Hoops, Fogelberg and Hippert voting in favor; none opposed. The meeting was adjourned at 3:38 p.m.
