CRYSTAL BAY TOWNSHIP LAKE COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE OF TOWNSHIP BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 5.2025.05 FINDINGS

The Town Board of Crystal Bay here­by finds it is best for the public health, welfare, and safety, for the Township of Crystal Bay to have a Planning Commission pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 462.354.

ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, Crystal Bay Township (the “Town”) ordains:

1. There is hereby a Planning Commission established under Minn. Stat. § 462.354. That Planning Commission shall have in the composition and term lengths set forth in this or­dinance.

2. There shall be three members of the Planning Commission. Each member shall have an initial term as set forth below.

a. The first member shall be Supervisor A. This member shall have a one-year initial term.

b. The second member shall be the Town Treasurer. This member shall have a two-year initial term.

c. The third member shall be the Town Clerk. This mem­ber shall have a three-year initial term.

3. At the expiration of an initial term, the Town Board shall ap­point a replacement member of the Planning Commission for a two-year term and all succes­sive terms shall be two-year terms. It is the intention of the Town Board to set up staggered terms.

4. The Planning Commission shall generally hold one regular meeting each month. The meet­ing date and meeting schedule of the Planning Commission shall be established by resolu­tion of the Planning Commis­sion. The Planning Commission shall adopt rules for the trans­action of its business, keep a record of its resolutions, trans­actions, minutes, and findings.

5. The Planning Commission shall consider and make recommen­dations on all matters affecting zoning, subdivision, building regulation, land use develop­ment, comprehensive planning, and any other matters referred to it by the Town Board. All recommendations made by the Planning Commission shall take into consideration any estab­lished policies and ordinances in force.

6. The compensation for members of the Planning Commission shall be $100 per meeting.

7. Any member of the Planning Commission may be removed at any time by a vote of the Town Board with or without cause.

8. The Town Board shall appoint replacements at the end of each Planning Commission mem­ber’s term. The Town Board may reappoint the same person multiple times to the Planning Commission.

9. The Planning Commission shall appoint from among its mem­bers a chair. The chair shall preside at the meetings of the Commission and shall be re­sponsible for carrying out policy decisions of the Commission. The term of the first chair shall be one year, and the chair shall serve until a successor is se­lected and qualifies.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE­SOLVED, the Town Board of Crystal Bay hereby resolves to
