4/5th graders at Birch Grove Community School are taking part in “STARBASE Minnesota – Destination Mars”, a hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum that is aligned with the Minnesota state standards. In the pictured experiment, students made gliders. The first set of gliders were all made identical. Students were then allowed to create a second set where they were able to get creative to see if they could fly farther than the first.
