The Two Harbors Just For Kix program held its Holly Jolly Winter Show on Saturday, December 20 at the Two Harbors High School gym. The event featured dancers from preschool through high school who participate in the local program.
Just For Kix began 40 years ago in Brainerd, Minnesota, and has since grown to serve more than 21,000 dancers across multiple states. The organization focuses on teamwork, proven technique, confidence building, and creating an environment where dancers of all skill levels can succeed. Its programs also emphasize respect, cooperation, and anti‑bullying values.
Two Harbors director Jaclyn Koehler, a middle school Spanish teacher with experience in early childhood and youth instruction, said dancers put significant effort into preparing for the winter performance.
“All of our dancers worked so hard to get ready for the show and put many hours into practices,” she said. “Everyone did such a wonderful job performing their holiday and winter routines and had so much fun.”
Koehler added that the show also included debuts from the program’s competition teams, solos, and duets. During the event, the program announced that Two Harbors dancers will participate in the ReliaQuest Bowl Game Performance Tour, a Just For Kix opportunity that will take dancers to Florida over winter break 2026–27.
As the season continues, Koehler said the second half of the year is an ideal time for new students to join. Dancers in grades 2–12 will begin perfecting routines for competition season, while younger dancers will continue working on technique, ballet basics, flexibility, and new choreography for the Spring Show, scheduled for May 9, 2026, at Two Harbors High School.
Two Harbors teams will compete at three Together We Dance (TWD) events this year:
• Sauk Rapids TWD on February 28
• Brainerd TWD on March 21
• Nationals in Rochester, Minnesota, April 30– May 2
The local program offers classes for ages 2 through 12th grade in styles including kick, jazz, hip hop, pom, lyrical, partner routines, dance basics for preschoolers, and technique and flexibility training.
