Thanks for publishing in your April 19th edition the story about the Lake County Commission approving the transfer of $2 million to the Lake County Housing Trust and $1.2 million to support the Silver Point II apartment project in Silver Bay. I would like to highlight that these funds were only made possible by the actions of the Biden administration in providing funds for the Local Aid and Tribal Consistency Fund and the American Rescue Plan. Affordable housing is a critical need in rural Minnesota, including our local North Shore communities. The Biden administration has consistently delivered for Minnesota, and I hope that voters recognize this support. Sometimes , we lose sight of the important accomplishments of this administration in improving the lives of people in our area. These funds will materially improve the lives of the residents of the North Shore, and we should certainly give credit where credit is due.
