FARGO, ND – Silver Bay’s own Livia Hoff is making a name for herself in the healthcare field. The Concordia College senior is currently completing a high-impact internship at Prairie St. John’s, a leading behavioral health hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.
As part of her Healthcare Leadership degree at Concordia College, Hoff is participating in a 480-hour internship under the mentorship of Josh Sailer, with oversight from CEO Ty Hedlund. Her work has centered on quality improvement, data analytics, and finance—a challenging mix of projects for a college intern, but one Livia has embraced wholeheartedly.
According to faculty advisor Dr. Jake Goering, who visited the site this week, Hoff has left a powerful impression. “The feedback from Prairie St. John’s has been overwhelming,” he said. “Staff repeatedly commented, ‘we adore her.’ She has already assumed meaningful responsibility and works as if she’s a full-time member of their leadership team.”
During her internship, Hoff has supported housing initiatives, analyzed client surveys, improved discharge planning materials, and collaborated on organizational marketing strategies. Her ability to translate classroom learning into real-world solutions sets her apart.
“Livia represents the best of Concordia and the best of Silver Bay,” Dr. Goering added. “She’s professional, thoughtful, and service-driven. We’re proud of her and grateful to Prairie St. John’s for providing such a strong foundation for her career.”
Hoff’s internship is part of Concordia’s PEAK (Pivotal Experience in Applied Knowledge) curriculum, designed to give students hands-on experience in their field of study. She will complete the program with a detailed report outlining the personal and professional growth she gained during her time at Prairie St. John’s.
