The eighth annual Harvest Moon Gala is coming Saturday, November 14th, at the American Legion in downtown Two Harbors. The festivities begin at 5pm with the start of the silent auction, and what a great auction it will be! There will be a wide variety of locally made, locally grown items from local farmers, artists, and businesses. One group of items that we are especially thrilled to have are the seven stars that formed the Big Dipper from the Paul Gauche band shell. As you know, the band shell is being razed and a big piece of Two Harbors history will be gone. Six stars will be up for auction. The names of the winning bidders of the six stars will be put into a hat, (or box, we’ll see what’s available) and the name drawn will win the North Star. This should make for some fun bidding and some great donations for the station.
In addition to the auction, Generations will begin the live entertainment portion of the evening starting at 7, then local favorite Shore Thing will take the stage at 8. Both the auction and the musical entertainment are free and open to the public.
A silent auction, live entertainment – what more could you ask for? How about food? We’ve got that, too! A taco bar with desserts starts at 6:00. There will be vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options as well. Tickets for the dinner are $25 and must be purchased by Sunday, November 8th at 11:45 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at ktwh. org. Tickets may also be purchased at the KTWH studios in the Harbor Landing Building Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8am to noon, Wednesday from 9-1. If you do purchase your ticket online, you will be given a token ticket when you arrive on the evening of the 14th.
We hope to see all of you at this event that gives us a chance to spend an evening together celebrating and supporting our grass roots, listener-supported volunteer-driven community radio station.
