Silver Bay, MN — A quilt raffle organized by the American Legion Auxiliary has once again brought warmth and support to residents of the Silver Bay Veterans Home. The raffle featured a handcrafted quilt donated by the Two Harbors Quilters, with all proceeds benefiting the home’s resident activity programs.
This marks the second such fundraiser held for the Veterans Home, reinforcing a growing tradition of local support for those who served.
During a recent visit to the facility, three members of the Two Harbors Quilters joined two senior and two junior Auxiliary members for a formal check presentation. The group was also joined by two Veterans Home residents for the occasion.
Prior to the presentation, both the quilters and Auxiliary members spent time with residents, helping facilitate an afternoon game of bingo that brought joy and camaraderie to the community.
The event underscored the close-knit partnership between local volunteers and the Veterans Home, and highlighted the broader community’s commitment to honoring veterans through ongoing support and engagement.
Organizers have already begun planning the next quilt raffle, aiming to continue the heartfelt tradition and further support the home’s mission.
