Grand Marais, MN — Life in Christ Lutheran Church is excited to announce the groundbreaking of its new church building on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at 2017 W. Highway 61 in Grand Marais. The public is warmly invited to attend the ceremony and a time of fellowship to follow.
This new facility marks a significant milestone for the congregation, which has faithfully served the North Shore community for many years.
The project will provide space for worship, education, and outreach as Life in Christ Lutheran Church continues its mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
The ceremony will include Scripture, prayer, and a message from Rev. Troy Peperkorn, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Silver Bay and Circuit Visitor of the Lake Superior Circuit of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain,” said Rev. Jonathan C. Watt, pastor at Life in Christ. “This new church building is not just for us—it’s a visible witness to our community that Christ is present here through His Word and Sacraments.”
All are welcome to attend. To learn more about the building project, visit licgm.org/buildingplan or contact the church at 515-462-0566 or pastor@ licgm.org.
