TWO HARBORS, Minn. – Darla Abrahamson, Vice-President of Lending for Two Harbors Federal Credit Union (THFCU), is retiring after 22 years of service.
Abrahamson’s professional history includes various roles in banking, finance, and law. In 2002 she accepted a part-time loan officer position with THFCU and, with the exception of a brief sabbatical, has been lending for the credit union ever since.
In her executive leadership role, Darla oversees all aspects of consumer lending. She also participates in THFCU’s strategic planning process, new product development, service training, and more.
“Everybody knows Darla,” said Randy Willert, THFCU President and CEO, “She embodies the credit union mission, helping thousands of our members achieve their dreams – home ownership, a new car or boat, a dream remodeling project – and doing so with warmth, care, and a friendly smile.”
During her time with THFCU, Abrahamson has seen many improvements and accolades. The 2015 relocation of the credit union’s office to its present location on 11th Street, the introduction of digital and mobile member access, and a renewed investment in the Two Harbors community top the list of change. Top scores in member service, national leadership recognition for her peers, and financial performance awards for the credit union are among the many notables she has helped THFCU achieve.
“It’s been an extraordinary place to work,” Abrahamson notes, “I’ve always been passionate about helping our members, and I will miss being a part of those rewarding experiences.”
Darla will remain busy in retirement. She is a board member for the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, and is Secretary for the Lakeview Women’s Golf League. She has plans to travel, and to enjoy more of what she loves – golf, fishing, and her nine grandchildren.
Credit union members and the Two Harbors community are invited to wish Darla well at a special open house, Friday August 28th at 3:00pm at THFCU’s office, 801 11th street. Her final day with the credit union will be September 4th.
