The Two Harbors Area Fund and LaBounty Family Fund Announce Grant Recipients for 2024

Twelve regional nonprofits were granted funding from the Two Har­bors Area Fund; eight nonprofits received grants from the LaBounty Family Fund.

TWO HARBORS AREA FUND

Led by an advisory board of lo­cal volunteers, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for cit­izens in the Two Harbors and sur­rounding area. We support initia­tives that meet the changing needs of our community in the following areas: the arts, civic projects, edu­cation, the environment and human services. The fund may, from time to time, emphasize one area over another when emerging needs or opportunities require special atten­tion.

2024 Grant Recipients Total: $51,820.00

LABOUNTY FAMILY FUND 2024 Grants Total: $24,453.00

Mission: The fund primarily pro­vides assistance to projects that promote economic development in the Two Harbors area. Economic development, in order to qualify as a charitable purpose, must benefit the public directly and significant­ly, with any private benefit only incidental and not substantial when compared with the public benefits.

RSVP program, keeps seniors active and social involvement, healthy

Provide legal services for low-income citizens, variety of legal services

Sensory Friendly Day Out with Thomas the Train, request for inclusion and opportunities for all.

Technology Access to bridge the digital divide.

  • Superior Hiking Trail Associa­tion, $2000

Volunteer trail skills training

Providing fresh and healthy food for Lake County

  • Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity, $3053

Both funds are affiliated with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. The Two Harbors Area Fund was established in 1998 and has distributed $744,315.28 to Two Harbors and surrounding area non­profits.
