I’ve personally never minded when I’m asked at the register if I’d like to round up my purchase to support a charity. To me, it’s a convenient way to give, even if it’s just some change to even out my total. When many say yes, these small amounts can add up to do a world of good.
From February 1st through the 19th, Super One customers have the opportunity to support the local Two Harbors High School athletic and fine arts programs. Other locations are fundraising for organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA.
“It’s through the generosity of our customers,” emphasized John Welch, manager of the Two Harbors Super One, in speaking to the success of the fundraisers the store has facilitated in the past. Previous campaigns included raising funds for MDA, the Solvay Hospice House, Salvation Army, and the American Cancer Society. Really close to home, customers of the Two Harbors Super One rounded up and donated to the Two Harbors Food Shelf and the Lake County Animal Shelter.
Funds raised by customers for the Two Harbors High School will be dispersed evenly amongst athletic and fine arts programs. Patrons can choose to donate $1, $3, $5, or they can round up their total while checking out at the register.
John lives in Duluth and has worked for Super One since 2006. He has been the manager of the Two Harbors location for close to four years. “They’re very community driven,” John said of the company. “They are able to offer that platform for the customers to help their fellow neighbors.”
Thank you to Two Harbors Super One for the opportunity to help out the Two Harbors High School! And thank you to the patrons who choose to donate and round up!
