  • City of Silver Bay Public Works (Corey Cook, Spencer Tiboni, Mike Rowlee and Jerry Mitchell)

Volunteers:

  • Vane Hoff
  • Vaughn Hoff
  • Ray Churak
  • Nic Johnson
  • Dan Heinzen
  • Nate Stadler

  • Faron Meeks
  • Jake Stadler

While the overall project is partially complete at this time, considerable progress has been made. VanHouse Construction crew, along with help from the City Public Works Department and Lake County, prepared the base for the rink with aggregate and foam insulation. The VanHouse crew then built the forms and poured concrete footings. The hockey boards/glass were then installed by the volunteers shown above. Thank you to all of these groups and individuals in our community for your valuable time working together to move this project along, despite a few major setbacks.

Next spring, we will finish the concrete base, construct pickleball courts, and build a skating-only area as well as a picnic area. The goal is to be 100% complete by July 1, 2024 and we will again rely on generous community members for their time and talents to finish on time and on budget.

Gratefully,

Shane Hoff and
Nick Bjerken
