DIANE SUSAN KUCINSKI (April 12, 1950 – November 14, 2023)

Diane Susan (Johnson) Kucinski, 73, of Two Harbors, passed away on November 14, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Diane was born in Duluth, Minnesota on April 12, 1950.

A lifelong resident of Two Harbors, she graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1968 and traveled around Europe before earning her associate degree from Bemidji State. She was working for Maurice’s when she met Tom Kucinski. They were married in 1976 and built their home and family in Two Harbors. Diane was passionate about her family and community.

Through the years, it brought great pride for her to be a girl scout leader, Vasa member and other roles supporting her kids, Swedish heritage and community. Her greatest joy was spending time doting on her family, especially grandchildren, and adventures along Lake Superior. She will be remembered and forever cherished for her adventurous spirit, thoughtful gifts and determination to always keep fighting.

She is preceded in death by her father, Arvid Johnson; mother and step-father, Irma & Albert LaBelle; husband, Thomas Kucinski; and siblings, Phillip LaBelle and Allan LaBelle. Diane will be dearly missed by her children, Sarah (Dan) Rentschler, Joseph Kucinski and Katherine (George) Patronas; siblings, Karen (Arlan) Anthony, Donald (Colleen) Kresal, Jeanette Pocrnich, Barbara (Richard) Donahue and sister-in-law, Barbara (Allan) Penne; grandchildren, Ethan and Gretchen Rentschler, Nicholas and Constantine Patronas; special cousin, Arlee Wilkes; along with nieces and nephews and many loving extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank, Dr. Wilson Ginete, Dr. Sreedhar Devathi, Dr. Ingrid Nisswandt-Larsen and special nurse, Felycia, for providing support and hope while caring for her. Services were held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Private burial to take place at a later time.
