The Lake County Chamber of Commerce is holding a Career Expo this coming Monday, April 3rd, at Two Harbors High School Gymnasium, 1640 Hwy. 2, Two Harbors. Janelle Jones, President of the Lake County Chamber, stated that this is the first the Chamber has sponsored an Expo like this. There will be over 60 businesses and trade organizations that will have booths where attendees can learn about a wide variety of career opportunities. Those interested in post secondary education and job training can learn about possible options from 10 Colleges that will be represented at the Expo.
Additionally, professionals will be on hand to help with resume writing and mock interviews. High school clubs will be represented and there will be opportunities for folks to get a free headshot taken by a professional photographer.
The Expo will be a family friendly affair with games and face painting for the kids. Food will also be available.
The Expo will be open for high school students from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jones stated that she is expecting 650 students who will have the opportunity to learn about career opportunities in Lake County. The Expo will be open to the general public from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Jones indicated that there is a real need among area employers for workers. With that in mind, businesses will be holding interviews at the Expo. If you’re looking for employment or a career change, you won’t want to miss this Career Expo.
