SILVER BAY — The Lake Superior Community Theatre (LSCT) officially launched its latest theatrical season on December 5th with a kick-off celebration at the William M. Kelley School. More than 20 actors, actresses, and artists gathered in The Galley for a first meeting and cast party, where Stage Manager and “Cast Chef” Michelle Ketola served up her signature “Ketola Tacos” and sweet treats.
The company is preparing for an April 2025 run of Tracks, a thought provoking drama by Peter Tarsi. Directed by Paul Deaner, the LSCT production will “spice up” the script with added dance sequences and humor.
A Story of Limbo and Life Choices
Tracks tells the situational story of a group of strangers who find themselves in a subway station, only to realize they have passed away. Unable to leave the platform, they are faced with three daunting choices: remain in subway limbo forever, or board one of two trains. With neither train labeled, the characters must decide which track leads to heaven and which leads to “you-know-where,” sparking deep introspection about the lives they lived and the choices they made.
Artistic Collaboration
The production brings together notable regional talent. Legacy Frost, a Duluth-based dance artist, will provide the choreography. Additionally, acclaimed scenic designer and painter Ann Gumpper will return to Silver Bay for her traditional scenic painting residency. Community volunteers are invited to work alongside Gumpper on the Kelley stage from January 8–10 to help bring the subway setting to life.
Performance Schedule and Tickets
Tracks opens April 9, 2025, for a seven-performance run concluding April 19. In a unique twist to the theater experience, each one-hour performance will be followed by a post-show party in the lobby, allowing the audience to mingle with the cast and crew.
Tickets are expected to go on sale approximately February 1, 2025. Patrons can purchase them through the following methods:
• Online: lsct.online
• By Phone: House Manager Sue Churack at 218-220-9942
