The Lake County Humane Society’s biggest event of the year, the Bev Bright Memorial Pet Walk, is just around the corner! Created in 2012 to honor Bev Bright, a passionate advocate for Lake County’s lost and homeless animals. This beloved event offering fun for the whole family will be held at 1 pm on September 7 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
The highlight is a casual one-mile walk, with many participants gathering pledges to support the shelter. For interested folks, pledge forms are available at the shelter and local businesses, and those raising $100 or more will be entered into a drawing for a $200 VISA gift card! If walking or collecting pledges isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other ways to participate too!
Beyond the walk, you’ll find an incredible raffle featuring baskets donated by supporters and local businesses. Last year, there were over two dozen baskets, including ones from Co-op Light and Power, the Bev Bright Family, K9 Health Forward, Lake County Veterinary Clinics, Serenity Dog Training, and many more. Rustic Inn Café will once again serve their famous pies, with all proceeds benefiting the Humane Society. You know you need some pie!
Other attractions include Bingo, with prizes for every game and a $50 gift certificate for blackout, plus an “Ask the Dog Trainer” session by Serenity Dog Training, and of course activities for kids.
Help make the 13th annual Bev Bright Memorial Pet Walk the best one yet and join the fun September 7 at 1 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds!
