The public can now access live video of the lighthouse online at any time.
TWO HARBORS, Minn. (May 21, 2024) — Split Rock Lighthouse is famous for its scenic beauty, stunning views of the surrounding wilderness, and unpredictable weather. Thanks to a new around-the-clock livestream, the public can now get a view of conditions at the site at any time, no matter where they are in the world.
“Ever since I started working at Split Rock Lighthouse, I wanted to showcase the beauty of the area to folks who cannot be here in person,” said Site Manager Hayes Scriven. “It
is something that we’ve talked about at the site for years, and we are excited to share the views we see every day with people from all across Minnesota and beyond.” The new camera is a partnership between Split Rock Lighthouse and Duluth Harbor Cam, operated by photographer Dennis O’Hara. It can rotate in almost any direction and will pan and zoom regularly to provide different views of the surrounding site.
