(August 8, 2023 – Silver Bay, MN) Silver Bay Public Library and the ArtCar Beach Bash will co-host a forum, “The Importance of Art and Culture,” led by experienced Ted Talk presenterJack Becker on Thursday, August 17th at 2 PM at the Reunion Hall in Silver Bay. This discussion is designed for community leaders with a key interest in creating dialogue around public art, cultural development, and regional planning. The forum is free and open to the public.
Best known as the founder of Forecast Public Art, based in Minnesota, Becker also founded Public Art Review, an international magazine devoted to contemporary public art. Becker currently serves on committees for the US Department of Arts and Culture, the Institute for Public Art, and the Public Art Exchange.
