On Sunday, January 22nd, the Mariner boys 4th-grade basketball team traveled to the Aitkin, MN boys basketball tournament. They won their first three games and made it a solid four by taking it to the Championship game.
In all four, their game was 100% and their sportsmanship was 110% (players, coaches, and parents)!
“We won every game… some by only a couple points… four games in a row – no breaks!”
The young team played against Pequot Lakes for their first win (27-25), then a second game against Crosby-Ironton for a win by over 20 points (46-24). Next, they played Pierz and won (33-23), which brought them to the championship game vs. Milaca.
The Milaca game was very physical and the Mariner Boys came out on top with a score of 24-17 and the championship win!
Congratulations to the 4th grade Mariner Boys Basketball Team. It is well deserved for all your hard work, sportsmanship and teamwork.
