From the Lake County Sheriff’s Office – Isabella Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area,  Medical Emergency

On June 14, 2024 at 1922 hours (7:22 p.m.), Lake County Dispatch received a call from a male on Isabella Lake with an arm injury that was heavily bleeding. The male was being transported by canoe to BWCA Entry Point 35 on Isabella Lake. Dispatch requested that Lifelink (a helicopter) respond to the Forest Center Landing Zone near Isabella Lake.

At 2018 hours (8:18 pm), Lake County Rescue arrived on scene and transported the male patient to the landing zone, and at 2033 hours (8:33 p.m.), Lifelink had the patient loaded and was in the air.

Agencies assisting the Lake County Sher­iff’s Office during this incident were Lake County Rescue, Lake County Ambulance, Babbitt Fire, and Lifelink.
