RICHARD KRECH

Fixer of cars, toys and broken hearts, Richard Axel Krech, 81 years old, passed on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 after a long fought battle with Cancer.

He was known for his big heart, passion for life and self taught skills to repair almost anything; he owned and operated Riverside Repair for 37 years.

He came to Finland in 1968 to try his hand at bear hunting and never left. Not to just use mere bows and rifles, he designed a spear which he used skillfully; making him a curious legend.

Richard took joy in cooking for people and encouraging many to partake of the current fare of the week.

He loved being around people and was always ready to share stories and crack a joke with that great sparkle in his eyes.

He grew up on a farm outside of Sandstone Minnesota, moving to the twin cities, and finally making his home in Finland.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Michelle, children-Richard (Jodi), Kim (John) Boecker, Tamara (Jeff) Nikula, Scott (Savannah), Jamie, Shane, Michele and Brenda, sister Mary Jo (Mark) O’Brien, and several nieces and nephews who are also saddened at this time. 43 grandchildren and great grandchildren and 13 honorary ones will also miss him.

A celebration of his wonderful life will be held at a later date.
