Gregg Johnson, 75, of Silver Bay, died unexpected-ly on September 6, 2025. He was pre-ceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sybil Johnson. He is survived by brothers, Tim (Sue) Johnson and Tom (Dawn) Johnson; sister, Sue (Judd Frahm); 3 nephews, 2 nieces, 5 great-nephews, and his significant other of 25 years, Diane Helander.
Gregg was a long time resident of Silver Bay, employed at Reserve Mining, NSOP, Manneys Shopper, and Split Rock Lighthouse.
Gregg enjoyed the outdoors immensely! Fishing and hunting were his first loves. Later he hiked and x-country skied along the Superior Hiking Trail with Diane and friends. He enjoyed hockey and football games on TV.
Summers were spent camping at the northern lakes or going to the family cabin in Palo, MN. He especially enjoyed fishing with many of Diane’s nephews.
Gregg was a proud and humble member of AA for 39 years. He will be greatly missed, but always in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 28th at the Clair Nelson Center in Finland, MN. Visitation will be at 11AM and the service at noon. Lunch will follow.
