David “Dave” Dunham (age 79), of Silver Bay, MN died of kidney failure on January 2, 2026.
He died peacefully and in comfort in hospice at Aspirus St. Luke’s hospital in Duluth.
Dave was born on June 10, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska. At three months, he was adopted by Doug and Esther Dunham of East Lansing, Michigan. He graduated from East Lansing High School in 1964, and he went on to Albion College and Michigan State University.
In 2006, Dave married his wife, Rebecca, and they moved to Silver Bay, MN. Dave spent his time in his flower garden, reading, writing, and playing music on his keyboard and guitar.
Dave is survived by his wife, Rebecca Dunham, his sister, Mary Dell (estranged), and daughter Jennifer (estranged), along with a host of extended step family.
A private service will honor Dave’s life.
