Clifford G. Struve, 89, of Silver Bay, died Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Barross Cottages in Two Harbors.
He was born on August 1, 1934, to Edward and Elsie (Back) Struve in Grant Township, O’Brien County, Iowa. Growing up in Iowa, Cliff worked as a farm hand before moving to Silver Bay in 1957 to work at Reserve Mining. He was a founding member of the Silver Bay Rescue Squad and joined the ranks of the Police Department, working part-time for many years.
Cliff was a member of the Silver-Beaver Gun Club, the Silver Sledders, and the Dry Riders Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed many family vacations and trips with the camper and canoe, gardening, fishing, deer hunting, and collecting “junk”.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; Todd Davis; two brothers; and a sister-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Michael (Teresa) Struve, Pamela (John) Feldt, Paula (Mark) Goutermont, Matthew (LeAnne) Struve, Gina Benson, and Rylan Davis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a special Papa to Brody, Beckham and Willow.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday April 1, 2024 at Sychar Lutheran Church at Silver Bay. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery.
