Christopher Michael Mallory, 51, of Barnes, WI, was born May 23, 1971 to Michael and Kathy Mallory, and passed away at his home on January 6, 2023.
Chris was a 1989 graduate of Denfeld High School in Duluth, MN. His love for sports started at an early age. He played baseball and ran track during his high school years. Later, he played softball on various adult leagues and enjoyed a good round of golf from time to time. As his two boys grew up, he followed them to as many of their hockey, football and baseball games as possible, and would take them out to hit a few on the back nine.
He held many different jobs over the years, but his favorites were working as an EMT with Lake County, and most recently at ACE Hardware in Hayward, WI.
Chris gained many friends all over MN and WI over the years. He was always ready to help a buddy with a project or set out on a hunting or fishing trip. Not only was he often the life of the party, but he could cheer anyone up with just a simple hug and a smile.
The most important thing to Chris was his two boys, Tyler and Chase, whom he loved more than anything in this world. Before his first son, Tyler, was born, Chris had bought a stuffed baseball which he brought to the hospital “to start teaching him young”. Chris and Tyler shared a love for animals, fishing, hunting and everything outdoors. Chris’s youngest son, Chase, inherited his sports gene and looked forward to golfing with his dad every chance they could.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents; Fred and Gerry Tafs, and George (Stanley) and Alice Mallory.
Chris will be deeply missed by his sons; Tyler and Chase Mallory, and their mom Christine Mallory, Silver Bay, parents; Mike and Kathy Mallory, Weslaco, TX, sister; Lisa(Brandon) Preston, Culver, MN, wife; Tiffany, stepson; Jayden Sapik, nieces; Julia and Ellie Preston, nephew; Adam Preston, great-niece; Amelia Preston, many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and his beloved dogs.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Chris’s honor on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Mr. D’s, 5622 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN
