Willert Inducted into Hall of Leaders

TWO HARBORS, Minn. – Randy Willert, President & CEO of Two Harbors Federal Credit Union (THFCU), has been inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in Washington, D.C. The honor, granted to only 18 credit union professionals nationwide, was conferred in early March at America’s Credit Unions Governmental Affairs Conference.

The Credit Union House Hall of Leaders Award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the credit union movement at the local, state, or national level. Recipients inspire others through their passion, motivate the movement through their vision, and provide encouragement through bold leadership.

This is Willert’s second major industry commendation in the last 12 months. In the spring of last year he was named the Outstanding Credit Union Professional of the Year by the Minnesota Credit Union Network.

“I’m so flattered by this honor,” said Willert, “THFCU and the entire credit union industry have afforded me the opportunity to work alongside many wonderful individuals, dedicated to our people helping people mission. They inspire me every day.”

Troy Stang, Credit Union House Chair and President/CEO of the GoWest Credit Union Association, had high praise for this year’s inductees: “(These leaders) embody the very best of the credit union movement, raising the bar for member service, advancing collaboration across the credit union community, and advocating to safeguard the not-for-profit, cooperative financial services model.”

THFCU has enjoyed record growth under Willert’s leadership, mostly recently recognized as a top-performing U.S. credit union by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Beyond THFCU, Willert has served the industry in numerous capacities, including executive-level roles on boards for the Minnesota Credit Union Network, the MnCUN Health Association, the Central Minnesota Chapter of Credit Unions, and the Arrowhead Chapter of Credit Unions.

The Credit Union House honor is regarded as one of the most significant in the industry. For over 25 years, the Credit Union House has served as the epicenter for credit union advocacy in Washington, D.C. There leaders and policymakers come together to discuss ideas, share stories, and advance the movement’s mission.
