Cook County Leaders Attend AMC Legislative Conference

March 5, 2026 – Cook County Commissioners and staff recently attended the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) Legislative Conference in St. Paul, where they met with Senator Grant Hauschild and Representative Roger Skraba to discuss key issues affecting the county and its residents. The conference provides county leaders an important opportunity to learn about legislative priorities and advocate for policies that strengthen county services and address community needs.

“The annual AMC Legislative Conference offers a unique and valuable forum to have productive conversations with state lawmakers in a coordinated effort,” said Ginny Storlie, Cook County Board Chair.

During the conference, commissioners and staff highlighted several priority issues, including funding for infrastructure improvements along the Gunflint Trail, support for the Gitchi-Gami State Trail, and modernization of human services technology. They also addressed additional county needs, emphasizing the importance of strong local and statewide collaboration to best serve the community
