During the weeks of May 20-24, 2024 and May 28-31, 2024, the Water Department of the City of Silver Bay will begin its annual flushing of water mains by opening hydrants throughout the city.
Hydrant flushing will increase the water flow in the mains and will flush out a considerable amount of rust and scale buildup in the water mains. Rusty water will be present in the general area of the flushing. WASHING OF CLOTHES DURING THIS PERIOD IS NOT RECOMMENDED IF FLUSHING IS IN YOUR AREA.
The Water Department will do its best to complete the annual flushing during this time.
